Artist's BioMarilyn Christensen

Marilyn Ann Christensen is a professional musician who has been singing all of her life and has written numerous songs. She was grew up on a farm in the Alberta prairies where she started her music career with her Mom’s Band playing for various dances throughout her community. Marilyn bought her first guitar with her very first paycheck. She actually borrowed the money from her brother, Chris and then paid him back with her first ever cheque. She comes from a very talented family and music was always a part of her life.
Music was always a part of her life no matter where she went. She took piano lessons from Pauline Gedge and then continued with her guitar and voice lessons throughout her life. Some of her trainers were Charlotte Brown, Mary Picard and Ken Parry. Lessons varied from voice theory, voice training, classical voice and country style music.
Marilyn continued to pursue her love of music and sang at various weddings, churches, opening ceremonies, choirs, talent shows, coffee houses, funerals, banquets, and sporting events. Some of her highlights included singing at a Winnipeg Blue Bomber Opening Game, NHL All Stars Hockey Games and on a couple of cruise ships.
Marilyn was the lead singer for a band called Le Moccasins in Winnipeg, Manitoba and had a fantastic time with such a great group of talented musicians.
Marilyn continues her music by entertaining children as a professional children’s entertainer. She has recorded a children’s CD, “What if the Hokey Pokey is What it’s About?”by PT the Clown and it is available at Lotus Books, Cranbrook, BC and also on her website www.pttheclown.com
